Katie holds the position of Assistant Professor in Social Robotics at
Uppsala University within the Department of Information Technology,
specifically in the Vi3; Human Machine Interaction section. Her interdisciplinary work, to tries to mitigate risks and enhance the benefits associated with robot design and deployment. It tries to ensure that we build robots that
are useful, trustworthy and that support human flourishing. Katie's approach involves drawing insights from the humanities and social
sciences to inform technical work, actively engaging in participatory design, automation, and conducting experimental studies on human-robot interaction.
