Abstract Physical-based sound and music synthesis has
been playing a more important role in sonic interaction design nowadays. For
the composers, amount of time could be saved if a physical approach for
generating and adjusting sonic characteristics by movements is involved, while
the naturalness and consistency of the soundtrack would be also improved. In
this paper, I want to introduce Groove Machine (GM), a project that allows the
users to generate, record their own percussion for their music and manipulate
some of the sonic characteristics during playback. GM was developed with Leap
Motion, NGIMU motion attitude transducer and MAX/MSP software.
