The courtyard with level 3 offers higher values of ecosystem services in several categories, especially of regulatory ecosystem services such as stormwater management, local climate, noise dampening, and pollination. The number of trees is significantly higher, which provides a greater ability for climate regulation and stormwater absorption. Moreover, existing trees are preserved, contributing values from biological diversity. Even though the planting areas are not larger than on Level 2, they offer greater diversity which results in more measurable ecosystem services. The courtyard has butterfly beds that attract pollinating insects and contribute to environmental education by attracting more wildlife.
